Dance Visions NY, as of September 2011, is a new not-for-profit corporation. It consists of a company of dancers under
the direction of Beth Jucovy. The company performs
contemporary works of Ms. Jucovy as well as other company choreographers.
Dance Visions NY also performs works of the great dance pioneers,
specializing in Isadora Duncan.
The repertory includes a wide
range of styles, timely and innovative, enticing and
thought-provoking. We provide tailored programs for
venues including elementary schools, high schools,
colleges,parks, museums and libraries and for young children and seniors. We present Full
Isadora Duncan dance programs as well.
Beth Jucovy formed the original
company in 1990. Dance Visions had received twelve NGA grants,
and six Nassau Community Arts Council grants. They
performed extensively throughout Long Island and the NY
metropolitan area at such venues as the 92nd St. Y, Monroe
Playhouse at Hofstra University, Adelphi University, City
Center, for The Hatch performance series, for American Dance
Guild, for Old Westbury Gardens, for Workman's Circle, the Nassau
County Museum of Art, the Queens Museum of Art, The Long
Island Children's Museum and the Vanderbilt Museum as well as
many other venues.
Ms. Jucovy’s choreography has been
commissioned for various projects including for Poe-artistry
performed at Hofstra University, for Ballet Arts showcase at
City Center, for Old Westbury Garden's 50th anniversary
celebration, for the Long Island Children's Museum and for Korean children’s television.
