Classical Modern and Contemporary
dance
is
a wonderful technique and composition class for creative dancers who
will learn fundamentals of modern dance including aspects of Graham,
Limon and Horton techniques. Class also explores the technique and
aesthetic of Isadora Duncan.The
dance of Isadora Duncan promotes a deep understanding of movement
that is motivated from meaning and from the self.
Class fosters
an understanding and development of technique, movement
dynamics, rhythm, and alignment. These techniques
are also used as a springboard for improvisation
and student-composed pieces encouraging intellectual, kinesthetic,
creative, and interactive learning. Class
helps develop the artist within!

Jazz-Hip-Hop/Theater
is
an exciting class offering a solid Modern/Jazz warm-up, challenging
technique and across-the-floor combinations. Each level builds upon
previous jazz technique and incorporates combinations of lyrical as
well as funkier jazz styles. Each semester a Broadway Theater piece
as well as a pop dance or a modern jazz work is developed. Pieces
always incorporate student input. Tremendous fun, as well as
creatively and physically exhilarating. Street dance and Hip-hop are
incorporated into classes.

Classical
Ballet is
a more traditional ballet class for serious dance students. Class
consists of barre work, center, and across the floor. Placement,
body positions, line, turns, adagio, and jumps are included. Classes
teach the classical ballet vocabulary and fluidity of movement with
careful attention to the individuality of each student. Carefully
leveled classes beginner through advanced.

| Body- Conditioning
a wonderful system of conditioning and body-sculpting
exercises. Through lying and sitting exercises strength, flexibility
and muscle-tone are developed. Perfect for all levels of
conditioning. Abdominal breathing is incorporated throughout
class contributing to core strength as well as relaxation. Class can
be likened to a mixture of yoga and Pilates floor work. Basic dance
studies are included in last part of class. |
