Recent News: ● Dance Visions was in residence at the LI children's Museum in Garden City We presented two exciting new programs. *On Wednesdays in July we performed "Dances Of Nature". With original works of Jucovy and dances which use the repertory and aesthetic of Isadora Duncan, the program expresses the elements of water, fire, air and earth. *On Wednesdays in August we presented exciting brand new contemporary choreography in our program "Innovation in Dance" ●Dance Visions performed their works "Nocturne" and "Shades of Blue" for "An Evening of Dance" at Heckscher Park in Huntington on August 10 as part of the Heckscher Park Summer Arts Festival. ● Beth co-taught the 2008 Summer Aesthetic Education Introductory workshop in for new teachers in the school partnership program. It was an extremely successful workshop with exciting insights and learning for all involved. ● Dance Visions performed "A
World of Dance" for the PA at PS 89 in Elmhurst Queens on June 18.
This engaging program was specifically tailored for parents at the school.
● Dance Visions received a generous grant from The North Shore Community Arts Council. This grant aided in the presentation of the Isadora Duncan repertory as well as in the development of Dance Visions' new unique and fascinating piece entitled "Emergence." ● A Memorial Tribute to beloved Duncan dance exponent Hortense Kooluris was held on May 21, 2008 at St. Mark's Church/Danspace. Beth and other Duncan dancers close to Hortense performed and paid tribute. ● An exciting program of Ms. Jucovy's original choreography, A World of Dance, had been presented by Dance Visions for the past two years in library theaters throughout Long Island. In 2007 it was performed at the Long Beach , Peninsula, Jericho and Bryant, Oceanside and Syosset libraries. Dance Visions is delighted to announce that we were granted a generous 2007 NGA grant for these programs Dance Visions also received an NGA grant for A World of Dance 2008. the program includes new and augmented works!! A World of Dance 2008 was presented at the Hewlett-Woodmere libraries. Our last performance of this unique, exciting program was at the fully equipped spacious theater of the: Elmont Library on Sunday Apr. 13. It was a grand finale to a wonderful year of "A World of Dance." ● Dance Visions performed with the Long Island Dance Consortium's "Celebration of Dance" on Saturday evening, April 12 at 8:00. They performed with five other Long Island companies and guest company Chalasa Dance Theater. Dance visions performed their works "Shades of Blue, Nocturne and Tainted Love from Ratio 3 to 1. It was a well attended, successful event! Pieces were wonderfully received. ● Isadora Duncan and the American Jewish Experience, performed by Beth Jucovy, Adrienne Ramm and Dance Visions company performed at the Long Beach Library on Jan. 6 and at Jericho Library on March 9. Shirley Romaine served as host/narrator, and Mark Fiedler on piano. It was performed to packed audiences with wonderful reception. ● Dance Visions performed "A world of Jazz" at the Viscardi Abilities School on Feb. 4 and at the Herricks Middle School on Feb. 6 2008. Their work Shades of Blues, to the great blues song "St. Louis Woman" was premiered at this concert. It had wonderful live music with vocalist Louise Rogers and drums, bass and piano. Shirley Romaine served as narrator. ● Dance Visions performed their

Green Space Studios in Long Island City . ● Through Tilles center's School Partnership program Beth worked with students at the Portledge School in Glen Cove in workshops related to Jim West's "Dinosaurs" performed at Tilles Center in Oct. She presented workshops with students from Freeport HS in workshops related to "Nego Gato African Brazilian Music and Dance. With 4th and 6th graders at the Landing Middle School and Finley Elementary school in Glen Cove, they explored "Charlotte Blake Alston's program "Let My Stories Tell you who I Am". Beth did a workshop for 5th grade students in North Babylon working with Eva Dean Company's "Bounce." Lastly she worked with students at the Connolly School in Glen Cove in preparation for a performance of "The Golden Dragon Acrobats" from China. ● Through Friends of The Arts, Beth completed a residency at the Viscardi Abilities School in an inclusion program with Herricks Middle School. Beth collaborated with jazz vocalist and teaching artist Louise Rogers in a movement and vocal program as part of FOTA's Jazz Sampler. The students from both schools performed together on Dec. 19 at the Viscardi school. ● Children Dancing Winter Concert was held on Saturday evening Feb. 2, at 6:00, in the auditorium at St. Paul's Episcopal church, 68 Grace ave. Great Neck. Ballet, Classical Dance and The Art of Dance classes performed the annual "Nutcracker Tale". Jazz classes performed various pieces created during the semester. ● An interview on television with Beth Jucovy and Johnny DeArden re "A World of Dance" was on Cablevision's Art Scene Long Island with Shirley Romaine in January Press ReleasesThese are the press releases we've issued over the last year.
