NYSCA Decentralization grant for our project
Future/Past/Present and other
works. We will be presenting the program in six venues dispersed
thougout Nassau County in 2012. We are very excitied to continue work
on this "pioneering" program!
● Children Dancing Winter showcase is Sunday, Jan. 29 at 5:00 at
St. Paul's Ministry center, 3 St. Paul's Place, Great Neck, in the
auditorium. With Dance Visions NY Dancers Nichole Piacenza and Yuki
Ishiguro. Tickets are free and open to the public, don't miss it!
● Dance Visions NY, co-sposored by The Town of Oyster Bay Arts
Council, will be part of the "Music-go-Round" series for
children. We will be presenting "Dances of Nature and Fantasy" at the
lovely auditorium of the the Bethpage Library on Feb. 22 at 2:00
during the winter school break.
● Children Dancing 2012 Winter Spring semester begins Feb. 1! Registration is now~ see Children Dancing
● On Sunday Feb. 19, both Children Dancing and dancers from DVNY
will participate in a Mardi Gras celebration presented by the Great
Neck Episcopal Ministry, a program that celebrates our diversity. It
will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 855 Middle Neck Rd, Great
Neck, from 1:30pm-3pm
●Dance Visions is now Dance Visions NY, a new not-for-profit organization. Rebecca States, Gayle Ashkenazy and
Vivian Zeif are the officers of the new organization.
●The late Julia Levien's privately printed,
limited edition hand drawings of the Isadora Duncan is available. The
book "Images" is available for $50. through Dance Visions NY.
Proceeds from the book go toward Dance Visions NY's Duncan dance
programs.

Recent news, news from this past year
● The Friends of the Locust Valley Library presented Dance
Visions NY in "A Nutcracker Tale" on Dec. 10, at the Library: our own unique, creative, delightful Nutcracker Tale.
It was wonderfully received by the Locust Valley Community.
●Beth Jucovy with the DVNY dancers/artists completed a Summer Intensive through "The Field" in which new works are developed. We
began to develop our collaborative creation, our new theater/movement
work: Future Past Present. It
explores perceptions and views of women artists on various topics.
The artists involved span three generation.
●We performed our 3RD annual MidSummer's Eve Celebration Dance program throughout the lovely gardens, Old wesrbury Gardens 2011 on June 25. It was an amazing event with site-specific Isadora Duncan works celebrating nature and classical Greek art and mythology. Also an original excerpt to Midsummer Night's Dream. With nine DV dancers and
a youth company. A beautiful, popular annual LI event!
●Children Dancing 23rd annual concert was June 12, at the Jeanne Rimsky Landmark theater in Port Washington. A fabulous annual event showcasing delight our delightful students in unique, creative dance works.
● We were part of the Isadora Duncan Birthday Celebration in Central Park on Thursday, May 27. Dancers from Dance Visions as well as from Children Dancing joined other Duncan dance groups outside at Bethesda Fountain, Central Park on 72nd St, mid- park Program arranged by Catherine Gallant.
● Jucovy's "Blurred Boundaries", a peice dedicated to and inspired by Theda Detlor, and Dance Visions' Courtney Ramm's "Spinana" were performed at the HATCH series showcase in Manhatten April 7
● Dance Visions presented a new program of repertory favortes as well as previews. Program includes a new full company work, Blurred Boundaries" by Jucovy as well as previews of emerging choreographers within the company. Program was performed in February
and in March at the Long Beach and Jericho Public Librarys. We received excellent feedback.
●We were selected to present "The Alice Series" at the HATCH Presenting Series on Saturday evening Oct. 23. The Works Studio, in Manhattan. It was a delightfully fun evening
● We presented our Dreamscape program at the 2nd Long Island Fringe Festival on Sept. 25. Performances were held on the mainstage in the evening and at Hillwood Recital Hall in the afternoon.
● We performed at the Long Island Childrens Museum in a week long residency based on the exhibit "Night Journeys". This creative, multi-media, brand new program, entitled Dreamscape, was presented in the museum theater on July 27, 28, 31 and August 3. It was a fabulous new, creative multidisciplinay and multi dance style program that we are delighted that we will continue to present. Also we gave workshops on the creative process used in developing the work. www.LICM.org
